The center located at 2943 SMU Boulevard in Dallas, Texas is on the campus of Southern Methodist University or SMU. Its purpose is to commemorate and celebrate the life, history, and legacy of George W. Bush, the 43rd President of the United States who served from 2001 to 2009. It also hosts events, conducts research, and provides learning opportunities for SMU graduate and undergraduate students.

The goal of the Presidential Center, no matter your political affiliation or beliefs, is to educate the public on the factors and the functions of the American presidency. It aims to give you a unique, detailed and comprehensive focus on the period when George W. Bush served. This includes access to artifacts and official records produced during the 43rd President’s time in office.

 

What is the Policy Institute?

The Institute is a nonpartisan policy organization. It works to advance policy, develop leaders and work on today’s challenges. Although the Institute is nonpartisan, it’s work is guided by the principles that President Bush and Mrs. Bush hold dear.

What is Café 43?

Café 43 is the full-service restaurant located at the Center. The menu has a focus on Texas-influenced cuisine with am emphasis on locally-sourced and organic foods. Admission to the center is not required to dine at the café.

What is the Museum Store?

Unique gifts and souvenirs are available at the Museum Store, all in commemoration of the 43rd President and the Center. You can find clothing for men, women, and children, books, drinkware, office accessories, personal accessories, bags, sports and games, and home accessories. In addition to the physical store, an online store is available at the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s website.

What is the Museum Admission Hours and Prices?

The museum is open every day except Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sundays, the museum is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The museum is closed on the holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s.

From March 6 to October 6, the cost of admission for adults is $21. At all other times during the year, the cost is $16. Seniors, children and teens, college students, SMU students, and military active and retired personnel get in at a reduced price or free depending on the category. There are also reduced prices for groups of 20 or more. Members of the museum get in with free admission.
